stay at home Dad...

that's right, I am a stay at home Dad for 3 days each week, pretty much the beginning of the week... and I love it, even if I feel shunned at the park by all the Mom's, or when I am out on a walk with the kid and the dog, how I feel like other Mom's are looking at me, wondering why I am not at work, perhaps discriminating against me... because I am a male... who knows, probably just my imagination that they cross to the other side of the road, or herd their kids away from me, the kid and the dog... oh well...
I actually really enjoy being able to have the opportunity to be a stay at home Dad, it has given me a great insight into stay at home parents, particularly Mom's, and I raise my hat to you, kudos to you! It is not easy... and that's all I am going to say about that... I look forward to getting back to work near the end of the week while my wife becomes a stay at home Mom pretty much for the end of the week, it is an amazing set up and we are extremely lucky for how it has worked out...
I have become quite the expert on laundry and vacuuming, which is ironic, because when we went to purchase a new washing machine and dryer, the salesman kept referring to my wife when he was telling her how it all worked and kept referring to me and him as "guys" and generalized that we didn't know how to do laundry... well you know what buddy... I am more of a man than you will ever be, I can get loads started, vacuum the living room and start the dishwasher all before the kid is even done with breakfast and I am just a "guy", and look out Mom's because after breakfast and morning nap we are on our way to the park, to mingle and play and talk about how to do laundry... and that's how Joel sees it...

  1. I would play with you at the park, Joel. I think it's awesome that you both get to be stay-at-home parents to Mason. What a lucky little guy!

  2. Welcome to the world of blogging therapy. As a Paramedic student I get to spend lots of time at home either studying or spending time with my daughter. There's nothing like it!

  3. I won't shun you. Or heard Mrs. Apple Bar and Lu-lu across the street away from you.
